Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District

The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District was designated by the state of Maryland in 2002, and re-designated again in 2012. Additionally, the Maryland Department of Economic Development awarded the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District the Arts & Entertainment District Outstanding Achievement Award in 2012.
 
Studio B

The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District produces high quality artistic and cultural programming that benefits residents, businesses and tourists and supports the community’s growth and vitality. Events produced by the Arts & Entertainment District highlight local artists, writers and performers and provide them a venue to show their work in the community. These programs include Gallery B, Tunnel Vision, The Trawick Prize, Bethesda Painting Awards, Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards, Play in a Day, Bethesda Film Fest and Bethesda Fine Arts Festival. Additionally, the Bethesda Urban Partnership produces the Local Writer's Showcase, Taste of Bethesda, Imagination Bethesda and Winter Wonderland as well as promotes downtown Bethesda as a dining, shopping and arts destination
 
 
AVAILABLE STUDIO INFORMATION

  • Unit 3 is 185 sq. feet 
  • Rent is $315 per month, inclusive of all utilities.
  • Artists are required to be in the space during retail hours of Tues. – Fri., 1-6pm and during the monthly opening receptions.
  • Artist has 24/7 access to Studio B and their personal studio space.
  • Artist may sell artwork and there is no commission taken on artist sales.

SELECTION
Members of the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District and arts professionals will review the applications and select the Studio B artists. If necessary, an interview may be requested. Applicants will be notified about whether their applications have been selected. Bethesda Urban Partnership will perform credit and criminal background checks and execute leases with the tenants. Once maximum occupancy is reached, applicants will be placed on a waiting list until a studio becomes available.
